Novovjenčani supružnici George (James Brolin) i Kathy Lutz (Margot Kidder), uz njihovo troje malodobne djece, useljavaju se u prekrasnu staru kuću smještenu u malom selu zvanom Amityville. Sretni zbog izrazito niske cijene, oni odluče ignorirati zastrašujuću povijest njihovog novog doma. Nažalost, ta će odluka imati katastrofalne posljedice.
