Opis:

Maggie Patterson (Bette Davis), šarmantna je južnjačka dama u čijem se vlasništvu nalazi uspješna plantaža. Ona je i zaljubljena u neodgovornog pilota, Petera Van Allena (George Brent), za čiju se ruku također bori prelijepa djevojka iz New Yorka, Sandra Kovac (Mary Astor). Maggie eventualno završi u braku sa voljenim Peterom ali Sandra nosi njegovo dijete. Sudbinu će im zagorčati avionska nesreća u kojoj mu se izgubi svaki trag.
