Opis:

Američki science fiction pustolovni film snimljen 1974. godine u režiji Roberta Stevensona. Predstavlja adaptaciju romana Lost Ones britanskog pisca Iana Camerona. Protagonisti su članovi polarne ekspedicije koju je 1908. godine okupio britanski plemić koji zračnim brodom nastoji otići na Arktik i spasiti svog sina koji je nestao tokom prethodne ekspedicije. Radnja prikazuje kako sticajem okolnosti pronalaze zabačeni otok gdje žive potomci Vikinga koji su, izolirani od ostatka čovječanstva, sačuvali svoju kulturu i civilizaciju.

U The Island je uložen relativno veliki budžet, te je bio reklamiran kao "pustolovina u stilu Julesa Vernea". Iako je uspio vratiti dio sredstava, studio Walt Disney je odustao od predviđenog nastavka. [wiki]
