Opis:
Film o starom revolucionaru koji se posle trideset godina egzila iz Sovjetskog Saveza vraća u Grčku. Proveo trideset godina u nekoj sovjetskoj azijskoj republici, i tamo ostvario novu porodicu, dolazi u svoje selo, ženi koja ga je svo to vreme čekala. Njihova deca su gradski intelektualci u traganju za sobom, ali pokušavaju da mu pomognu. Starcu vlasti ne dozvoljavaju da stupi na grčko tlo, i drže ga na splavu privezanom za dok u Pireju. U maglenoj noći njegova žena dolazi na splav, i starac preseče konopac koji ih vezuje za ovaj svet.
